A great musical event is about to happen in the charming island of Palawan! Soon, a chorus of cheers, shouts, and toasts will be erupting as the 1st Palwan International Choral Festival is slated to happen from August 12 to 16, 2025, featuring competing and festival choirs from around the country and across international shores. This aims to bring together some of the most brilliant choirs in the locality as well as award-winning local and foreign ensembles in a spirit of camaraderie, learning, and friendly competition. As a country that abounds with multi-awarded choirs, the Philippines takes pride and pleasure in hosting this exciting collaboration to provide our people with new and unique varieties of choral creativity.

In partnership with the City Government of Puerto Princesa, and Palwan Provincial Governent,  the choral festival is the brainchild of renowned international conductor Jae Joon Lee from Daegu, Korea who has formed a committee of Filipino and foreign musical luminaries and choral experts. The Artistic Committee is headed by Dr Raul Sunico, former President of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Dean of the St Paul College of Music and the Performing Arts, and include Prof. Stojan Koret of Slovenia/Italy, Prof. Jonathan Velasco, Prof. Ed Manguiat, Dr. Beverly Shangkuan-Cheng of PCDA Philippines, Prof. Fidel Calalang of the UST Singers, Prof. Mark Anthony Carpio of the Philippine Madrigal Singers, and Prof. Heechurl Kim from Korea. They will be supported by a working committee headed by Robert Delgado with the philippines Choral Society.
